A COAST TO COAST WALK

A Coast to Coast Walk was devised by Wainwright himself, and stretches across 190 miles from St Bees Head on the west coast to Robin Hood's Bay on the east, passing through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors.

Julia moves from Wainwright Walks on the Lakeland Fells to tackling the Coast to Coast

Following two successful series of Wainwright Walks, Skyworks Production Company were asked by the BBC to produce a series, again fronted by Julia Bradbury, about AW’s classic walk of the Coast to Coast from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay.

Filming for this took place in September 2008 and transmission of the first episode of six was at 8.30pm on Thursday 9th April on BBC4, repeated at 2 am the following morning.

Alan NolanFeatured in the second programme is Alan Nolan who has done the Coast to Coast Walk four times. Alan is the author of "Ancient Feet" which recounts his coast to coast adventures. He will be talking about his exploits at Keswick Library on Monday 1st June. [details] Other talks are on Tuesday, 2nd June at Ambleside, 6pm start, and Thursday 4th June at Penrith, 7pm start.
