Every Step a Joy
A poem by Eric Braysford. Eric read his poem as part of the Centenary Service at Blackburn Cathedral on Sunday 21st January 2007, to celebrate the life of Britain's most famous fell walker, Alfred Wainwright. Eric is a 59 year old plasterer who lives just three miles from AW's birthplace in Blackburn. Along with with his wife Eileen he has, four years ago, completed the 214 Wainwrights. He has been writing poetry for years, has had several published, and considers "Every Step a Joy" to be amongst his best work.
The Society has produced a booklet of the poem, and after sending out a copy to members with Footsteps 17, has a number of spare copies. We are making these copies available to both members (if they want another copy) and also non-members at a cost of £1.00 each, along with a prepaid A5 size envelope and a cheque for £1.00 payable to "The Wainwright Society".
