Cumbria Archive Centre, Kendal Open Day

Wainwright artefacts from the Wainwright Archive will be on display at an Open Day to be held at the Cumbria Archive Centre, Kendal on Saturday 16th November 2013 from 10.30 – 1.00 p.m.

On display at the Archive Centre will be a selection of drawings, cartoons, photographs, notes and other writings of Alfred Wainwright, which give an insight into his life and how he created his famous guide books. Artefacts on display will include his camera, rucksack and boots.

During the Open Day you can:
Go behind the scenes and visit the archive strong room
See the Wainwright collection
Hear about and discuss the collection with the archivist
Have a “hands on” investigation with activities for children and adults, too.
