Wainwright Country

A series shown on ITV1 Granada in which Fred Talbot explores the legacy of Alfred "Red" Wainwright whose centenary was celebrated in 2007.

Each programme explores a different volume of the seven classic Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. At the heart of each programme is to be one of Red’s favourite out of the way places –not just well known mountains but minor summits with great stories and spectacular views. In each programme Eric Robson chats to Fred about Wainwright’s challenge and achievement. Spectacular Skyworks aerials illustrate each programme.
