This year is the 30th anniversary of the acquisition by Animal Rescue Cumbria (ARC) of the property at Grayrigg near Kendal, known as ‘Kapellan’. As many members will know, AW and his wife Betty were instrumental in the establishment and development of the animal rescue centre at Kapellan, which last year took in and re-homed approximately 100 dogs and 250 cats. ARC is delighted to be nominated as one of the beneficiaries of the Wainwright Society in their anniversary year. There will be a special open day at Kapellan on Sunday 24 May from 2.00-4.00 pm for members of the Wainwright Society to give them the opportunity to meet the staff (and animals!) while enjoying light refreshments.
The open day will also mark the dedication of one of the animal pens to those who are walking, or have completed, the Wainwrights.
If you wish to attend it would be a great help if you can let Kevin Whalley know (Society member and Chairman of Trustees at ARC) by emailing him at [email protected]
