There were 65 images entered this year by 27 members containing many stunning entries.
The late December snowfall encouraged a number of our photographically minded members to get out and take pictures, The result was some great snow scenes and nearly 50% of entries arriving from Christmas Eve onwards!
Honorary Member Derry Brabbs has once again officiated as judge and has selected a Winner and Runner Up. He comments: ‘The competition has again been difficult to judge due to the improvement on the particularly standard high set by members last year.
I have given up moaning about digital ‘tweaking’ and have tried to simply judge the images as presented, rather than wondering what they might have been like before Photoshop witchcraft was employed (whoops, on the verge of a moan!)
What I would say is that some images really have been overcooked in the processing and there is a fine line between enhancing an image and totally transforming it with the photographic equivalent of silicon implants!’
The Wainwright Society would like thank Derry once again for undertaking the unenviable task of selecting the winners who will each of which receive a prize courtesy of Striding Edge Publications.
